Restore a masculine physique
with gynecomastia treatment
For women, an increase in breast size is usually considered a blessing; however, for men, it is the opposite. Enlarged breasts on a man can be devastating to one’s self-image and confidence, and may inhibit interactions with others, especially in environments where going bare-chested is the norm, such as at the beach, in the locker room or at the pool.
Men suffering from an endocrine system disorder called gynecomastia will experience an increase in the breast tissue, giving the man the appearance of breasts.
It can occur because of a hormone imbalance and sometimes is not reversible without surgical intervention.
While the condition of “woman-like” breasts is undesirable, it is actually quite common among men and can be easily and effectively treated through Dr. Kiran Gill’s male breast reduction. Dr. Gill offers gynecomastia treatment at her practice for patients that want to maintain a more masculine figure.
Benefits of Gynecomastia Treatment
Many men with this condition find it difficult to hide the chest area when they start to develop female-looking breasts. Since it is usually caused by a hormonal imbalance, losing weight or working out to build the chest muscles won’t help much.
In many cases, Dr. Gill’s male breast reduction may be the best way to restore your natural shape and feel more confident about your body.
Common advantages of male breast reduction include:
- A better fit in t-shirts and tight clothing
- Increased confidence in one’s appearance
- A better first impression
- A more traditionally masculine physique
- A more youthful aesthetic
- Results where diet and exercise have failed
- A sleek, slim silhouette
- Long-lasting, sustainable outcome
- Natural-looking results
- Can complement other masculinization procedures for the FTM patient
Best Candidates for Gynecomastia Treatment
The best candidates for Dr. Gill’s gynecomastia surgery are men who are at a healthy weight and have had a problem for at least 12 months.
You may be a good candidate for this procedure if you:
- Are maintaining a healthy weight
- Are a non-smoker or have stopped smoking at least three months before surgery
- Are in good health, both physically and emotionally
- Are free from any major medical conditions that would impede surgery
- Have good skin elasticity for a proper recovery
- Have realistic expectations about the outcome of your procedure
Undergoing Gynecomastia Treatment
Dr. Gill’s gynecomastia procedure involves removing excess glandular and fatty tissue using a simple liposuction technique. Fat grafting may be necessary to achieve the ideal shape and avoid any deformities as tissue is removed. In some circumstances, especially in men with larger breasts, a small inconspicuous incision is made near the areolar border to remove breast tissue directly.
The procedure may be performed under general anesthesia and patients will need to wear a supportive vest garment for up to six weeks after surgery. This helps improve the final outcome and also reduces discomfort and swelling. Most patients return to work within a week and can resume strenuous activities after five weeks.
